A quick short video on how to use the demo sites.

Today’s little video was shot on a tablet to show folks just how easy it is to setup one of the 3 demo sites we have available here. If I can run a setup on a tablet anyone should be able to run an install.

It really is quite easy, and I will also be adding the video below to the Demo Sites How-To page later today.

There is one minor error in the video where I mention a weak email, that should be “password”. But I do not do multiple takes! Not Hollywood here folks.

Per a request, here is how you add a cool/nifty slider to YOUR Website!

tips_for_todayObviously, there are a zillion plugins out there and I can’t cover all of them, but this one is quite handy. It is a featured article plugin slider that can be added to most sites quite easily!

So…watch the video and enjoy! I do apologize for the music….but DEAL…WITH…IT!

So you have your site and are ready to start blogging…what’s next?

Dashboard Image,click for full size.
Dashboard Image,click for full size.

The first thing you want to do is to login and click on the dashboard icon. Then go through everything in that left side menu and see what it does.

Play with everything, because you can simply undo changes when you don’t want them. Fear not the unexplored as you shall regret not having tapped a resource.

The possibilities are endless, with several thousand themes/layouts and plugins.

This is a learning experience, so use it as such and don’t forget to ask questions!

The plugins I recommend are Jetpack, first and foremost as it gives you stats, and the ability to quickly share to Facebook, Twitter, Google and more! You will need a wordpress.com account, but that is easily obtained, so do it and move on to try out the bazillion other free plugins available.
