I have no clue what the issue is. While it may simply be a connectivity issue such as a weak signal it is definitely not due to the equipment at my end.
The router and all associated connections are good. The actual cable modem passes a diagnostic, but the only cure seems to be unplugging the actual cable, which looks to be fine and re-plugging it in, then I get several hours of good connection.
The cable company claims there are no outages, but there are obviously issues.
I will keep everyone updated as soon as I have an answer.
